Your Living Rhythm
There is a general pattern to the way you show up when you’re in balance. There is also a pattern to the symptoms that show up most frequently when you are out of balance.
These patterns are the clues that lead us to an understanding of your unique energetic recipe. Ayurveda sees your health in terms of a state of relative balance between three forces: Movement, Transformation, and Structure. And we call your natural balance of these three forces your Constitution.
Using the wisdom of Ayurveda as a tool, we are able to move from the understanding of your Constitution, to an understanding of the lifestyle choices (foods, herbs, oils, activities, colors, sounds, experiences, etc.) that are most likely to encourage your body to stay in its natural balance. This is about tuning in to your desire for balance and health as the guiding force behind the decisions you make on a daily basis.
The truth is, at all times, your body is either in a state of healing or aggravation. You are either moving in the direction of balance or imbalance. At all times.
And your current state of health is always going to be a direct reflection of the experiences that you’ve been bringing in through your 5 senses, and whether or not those experiences are in harmony with your Constitution.
So the journey of finding your healing rhythm is a journey of learning what balance looks like on you, what imbalance looks like on you, which sensory experiences bring you into balance and which experiences knock you out of balance. But it goes much deeper than that.
We live in a world that is always changing, always evolving. So we, as members of that world, are always changing and evolving, too. I say this to demonstrate that the goal with personal health is never about finding one diet, one routine, one thing that is going to be your thing forever – the goal is a deep level of self awareness that allows you to sense imbalance at the subtle level, and begin making intentional lifestyle choices to shift your energy back in the direction of balance immediately.
This routine of checking in on the state of you, noticing subtle imbalances, and intentionally choosing to apply a balancing sensory experience, this is what it means to be living inside of your healing rhythm.
